Caring for Your Teeth After Teeth Whitening

As you probably know, your smile can lead to a great first impression or a disappointing one. For this reason—along with a variety of others—Americans spend millions of dollars every year on teeth whitening.
Unfortunately, if you don’t care for your smile well after it is whitened, you could quickly find yourself unhappy with your results again. Luckily, there are a few things you can do to avoid this problem. To help you keep your smile as white as possible, we’re happy to discuss a few things you can do—and a few things you should avoid.
First, would you be surprised to learn that drinks can cause a major problem for your smile? Unfortunately, popular beverages such as red wine, coffee, citrus juices like orange juice, and colas are likely to stain your teeth. Luckily, there are a few things you can do if you hate the idea of going without these drinks. Arguable, the most important thing you can do is use a straw.
Arguably, the most important thing you can do is avoid smoking. Similarly, there are certain staining foods that you should avoid eating. For example, please avoid hard candies—especially the kind that stains your mouth or your tongue. Also, foods like cherries, blueberries, and beets. After you eat, please remember to brush your teeth.
