Caring for Your Dental Filling
posted: Oct. 15, 2018.
Despite your efforts, you may develop tooth decay. If this happens, Dr. Sohrab Saghezchi may recommend a dental filling in Mill Valley, California. A dental filling can correct and restore a tooth that has decay, thus helping you regain ideal oral health.
In order to take care of your dental filling, practice good oral hygiene. Visit Mill Valley Dental at least twice a year, brush your teeth twice a day with a fluoride toothpaste, and floss at least once a day. If you suspect that your dental filling is cracked or that it no longer fits snugly, contact our office for an appointment. We will take X-rays to determine the best course of action, which may be to place a new dental filling.
At Mill Valley Dental, we provide tooth-colored dental fillings. To place a filling, our dentist will first numb the area around the tooth. The decayed area of the tooth is then removed and the area is checked to ensure that all damaged tooth structure has been taken out. Our dentist will then clean the area of debris and bacteria. The filling material is then placed one layer at a time. As each layer is placed, it is cured with a special light. When the layering is complete, Dr. Sohrab Saghezchi will shape the material, remove any excess, and polish the final filling.
